About My Setup

I've had a few people ask me what my amateur radio setup looks like and while I am not going to try to take pictures of my shack (mostly due to the multitude of wires, monitors, etc. running everywhere), I am going to list a few things I use here for those that are interested.

My main radio is a FlexRadio Systems Flex 3000 Software Defined Radio.

Flex 3000

I use that connected to a computer and controlled with a Hercules DJ Control MP3 E2.

While talking I am almost always on a Heil Pro Set Plus controlled with a foot switch.

The antenna I use is a 450 foot loop at around 45 feet fed with 30' of 450 ohm ladder line into a 4:1 Balun that is tuned with a LDG AT-600Pro.

A photo of where the antenna is run follows.
